Main characteristics of life and art

Anatoliy Kushch was born on 30th November 1945 in Kyiv.
1972 – graduated from Kyiv State Institute of Art (at present – National Academy for Fine Arts and Architecture of Ukraine)
1972-1973 – was teaching at Kiev State Institute of Art (at present - National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture of Ukraine).
Since 1976 – member of USSR Artist’s Union (at present – NAUU – National Artist’s Union of Ukraine)
1976 – the 1st prize and diploma of the 1st degree of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.
1976 – Medal of USSR Union of Artists "Korchagintsi of the 70-ties".
1973-1977 – graduated from post graduate courses supervised by Professor V.Z.Borodai at USSR Academy of Arts
1978 – certified with Republican prize of LKSMU named after Ostrovskyi and awarded with the 1st Degree Diploma and the 1st Prize from USSR Ministry of Culture.
1978 – the 1st prize and diploma of the 1st degree of the Ministry of Culture of the USSR
1978 – awarded with the premium of M.Ostrovskyi.
1979 – awarded with honorary title: Honored Artist of Ukraine
1980 – awarded with the Silver medal of USSR Academy of Arts and in 1981 – awarded with the Bronze medal of USSR ENEA (Exhibition of National Economy Achievements) for mastery in portrait performance
1982 – awarded with the diploma of the Supreme Soviet of the USSA.
1983 – awarded with the Bronze medal of ENEA USSR for achievements in portraiture.
1985 – awarded with “The Honorable Order” for creativity and public service activities
1978-1993 – was elected and worked in managing bodies of Ukrainian Artist’s Union
1998 – was awarded with the medal of "International Association of Sculptors- Portraitists» for outstanding achievements in the art of portrait, London, UK.
1998 – elected Corresponding Member of Ukrainian Academy of Arts
2001 – the Laureate of the national program "Person of the Year" "Artist of the Year".
2004 – elected as a full member of Ukrainian Academy of Arts
2005 – awarded with “Gold medal” of Academy of Arts of Ukraine for the outstanding achievements in the art.
2005 – awarded with the Medal of Ukrainian Federation of Scientists for significant contribution to Ukrainian art.
2005 – awarded with “ Honorable Sign” of Committee of assistance to law enforcing bodies.
2005 – awarded with the highest honors in Kyiv "Badge of Honor" for his outstanding artistic contribution to the urban environment.

1976 –  park sculpture “The First Love”, Bila Cherkva town.
1976 – monumental and decorative relief "Mechanization and automation of agriculture" agricultural plant named by  1st  May, Bila Cherkva town.
1978 – complex of five sculptures for the railroad resort, Khmilnyk town.
1978 – monumental and decorative sculptures "A Boy and a Dolphin", "The Princess Swan”,  "The Family," "The World of Childhood" and "The Source" for the park of railroad rheumatological hospital, Khmilnyk town.
1978 – allegorical personage "The Sculpture" on the facade of the House of Artists, Kyiv city.
1979 – monument to Zoya Kosmodemianska, Kyiv city
1979 – monumental and decorative relief "Signs of Zodiak" for the Central Observatory of the  Academy of Sciences USSR, Kyiv city.

Unrealized projects

2003 – won the competition of the erecting the monument to Metropolitan "Petro Mohyla" in Kyiv city.
2004 – upon the request of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, he developed the project of the monument "Victory Parade" in honor of the heroes of Sacred Defense in Iran-Iraq war. Monument is proposed to establish in The Liberty Square in Teheran city
2007 – won the competition of the erecting  the monument to the author of the first constitution in Europe, hetman of Ukraine "Pylyp Orlyk", for the hetman capital Baturin
2008 – fulfilling a contract with the Great Socialist People's Arab Jamahiriya,he developed the project of the monument to the hero of the liberation struggle of the Libyan people, "Omar Mukhtar"
2008 – according to the contract with the Great Socialist People's Arab Jamahiriya, he developed the project of the monument to "Shahids" – fighters for the independence of Libya
2009 – won the competition and developed the project to erect the monument to Hetman of Ukraine "Mazepa", Mazepa Street, Kyiv city
2012-2013 – won the competition and developed the project for the construction of the monument to Taras Shevchenko in Astana city, Kazakhstan
